Ethan turned two on January 2oth. We had his party on Saturday the 19th. It was a camping theme at our house. We had a bonfire, made smore's, and I made him a cake modeled after a bonfire. It was cold and wet (as both of his Birthdays have been) but fun. The kids did not seem to care about the cold as they played outside in the puddles and around the bonfire. It is hard to believe he is already two. I know everyone says that for each of their children at each birthday, but I have yet to find a better way to say that feeling you get when you realize another year of your child's life has passed by right in front of you. It makes me look back at the progress that has been made, the growth, and all the milestones that they have completed to never have to master them again. It is such a successful, yet melancholy feeling. I love to see them grow and progress and become their own little person with their own personality raveling in the independence they get. Which ultimately means more independence for me. Yet all the while dreading what that independence leads to. Ethan has a very strong personality and has since the day he was born. He knows what he wants and does appreciate compromise or anyone that tries to force it upon him. He is very passionate in all aspects of his life. Which leads to an extremely happy and funny little boy, but on the other hand when he is upset, well let's just say you do not want to be anywhere in earshot. He is one loud little fellow and will not hesitate to use violence to get his point across!
Such a big boy blowing out his candles!
The Smore's were so yummy. The kids really enjoyed making them. Hannah Ory quickly became dubbed as the "Smore Queen". She came up with very interesting creations and had most of the adults ready to puke from trying all her concoctions.
Ethan playing with Patrick and Jake. Ethan is playing with his new Wedgits he got from Savannah and Jake. If you have not seen these before they are quite cool. They are a new spin on blocks. Ethan has enjoyed them so much. They are one of his favorite toys.

Men and Fire. What is it about men? They are always drawn to the flame. They are really still so primitive aren't they?
Nate and Ethan playing with Paw Paw Lou and Ethan's new Remote Control truck.
Ethan is getting cozy with his Doe Doe and his cat Trey.
Well that is a rap guys! Ethan had a great Birthday and he thanks all those that made it possible. All the friends and family that came and he thanks them for all the great gifts.
