TRICK OR TREATING

Our tradition for Halloween night is first we go trick or treating around our house so all the family can see the boys. Gerold and Annette do an awesome spooky trail at their house that is totally decked out with all the scary extras. Then we head to Danelle's neighborhood. Her neighborhood puts on the best Halloween trick or treating I have ever seen. They totally trick out their houses and some of them even do Haunted Houses in their garages. Everyone dresses up and they hand out so much candy it is insane. This Jester dresses up every year (well except for last year b/c the year before he was so crazy he got in trouble with the Sheriff department. As the night got later he got crazier and apparently cranked up the push mower and were chasing people down the street with it. The last we saw him he was hanging from a tree jumping down as people walked by. He was so funny.) Anyway he was back this year, a bit more mellow, Ethan loved him. He was so cute, he thought he was so tough and grown because he was not scared of him. Before we left he gave the Jester a pound-it and told him he was his friend as he blew him a kiss. Such a big boy. The other year Nate loved him, but this year Nate was way more skeptical. He was not too sure. When we would get to a house that had a scary guy he would tell me to "go talk to them mommy and ask them if they are nice or not." He would stand back and wait for them to say they were nice before he would proceed. It worked well because once they committed to being nice, they wouldn't scare him and would be real friendly. Clever boy, that Nate is.
